We are seeking an experienced and hands-on EMR (Equipment, Maintenance & Repair) Specialist to join our Operations & Logistics team in a pivotal technical and training-focused role-supporting operations across the Pacific. Job Description Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role combines deep technical expertise in Equipment Maintenance & Repair (EMR) with frontline coaching, operational training, auditing, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in lifting operational capability, improving repair decision quality, strengthening safety outcomes, and embedding consistent standards across multiple sites. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced M&R professional who enjoys being close to operations, influencing teams, and driving meaningful improvement across safety, quality, and commercial performance. Int his role, you will: Approve container repair estimates and validate repair scope, cost, and quality outcomes Deliver practical, high-impact operational training across multiple sites Develop and embed SOPs, training frameworks, and assessment programmes Conduct audits, site observations, and operational assessments Identify trends, capability gaps, and improvement opportunities through EMR insights and operational feedback Drive repair consistency, reduce rework, and improve estimate accuracy Support cost recovery activities through accurate damage validation and evidence gathering Reinforce strong safety behaviours and practical HSE controls across operational teams Operate a closed-loop improvement process focused on continuous learning and performance uplift As the EMR Specialist, you will work closely with depot teams as both a technical advisor and performance coach, supporting practical execution while helping build long-term operational capability. This role requires extensive travel across operational locations and will suit someone who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced operational environments. Qualifications What You’ll Bring: We are looking for a seasoned industry professional with strong technical capability, practical operational experience, and the ability to engage and influence frontline teams. Essential Experience & Qualifications IICL (Institute of International Container Lessors) certification 5+ years’ experience within container M&R, depot operations, or port-based operational environments Strong hands-on experience in container survey, repair, estimate validation, and repair decision-making Proven experience making real-time repair, offhire, and disposal decisions Experience developing and delivering operational training programmes and SOPs Demonstrated capability conducting operational audits and assessments Ability to travel extensively across operational locations Strong understanding of safety systems, operational standards, and continuous improvement practices Highly Regarded Qualifications in training, adult education, or instructional design Additional industry certifications in container M&R, asset maintenance, or operational disciplines Experience working across multi-site or multi-country operational environments You are a practical, solutions-focused operator who leads by example and comfortable coaching and influencing frontline teams. Highly organised with strong attention to detail, you are also commercially aware with sound operational judgement and confident navigating complex operational environments.
