POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated individual with a unique skill set, including mechanical, managerial, and operational experiences to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be integral to managing our own fleet of equipment used to install of our steel and mass timber products. You will be responsible for creating systems to assist timely, proactive equipment maintenance and tracking/ordering inventory. You will manage all equipment operations, being the direct contact between the shop and the field. Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred. We are keen to train a candidate who demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, a solid work ethic, and a foundational understanding of the construction or metalworking environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Education: Post-secondary undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience:
  • One (5) years or more required
  • General experience in a mechanical, construction, manufacturing, or metal fabrication environment is a strong asset.
  • Competency using computers and related software (e.g., word, excel, etc).
  • Key Attributes:

  • A solid work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Takes initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of handling materials and working in a dynamic workshop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Several years of experience managing heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair, including experience in a supervisory role.
  • The capacity to develop efficient systems to track and order inventory, schedule maintenance, and otherwise optimize any operations under your responsibility.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of various professions: e.g., welders, ironworkers, and mechanics.
  • Effective collaboration, delegation, and communication skills to interact with team members, management, and other team members.
  • The ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
