Equipment Manager
Sherwood Park Crusaders BCHL
Part Time / Seasonal
Support the Sherwood Park Crusaders in maintaining and managing all aspects of player equipment and the locker room. This includes tasks like skate sharpening, gear repair, laundry, inventory management, and ensuring a clean and organized environment. Assist with game-day setup, collaborate with coaching staff and athletic trainers, and may be involved in other duties as assigned by the team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Equipment maintenance and repair (sharpening skates, repairing equipment)
  • Inventory management (track equipment use, maintain organized storage areas)
  • Dressing room management (ensure room is clean and functional)
  • Game day preparation (assist with setting up bench, dressing room, organizing sticks, filling water bottles)
  • Attend all home games and assist with mid game skate sharpening and equipment repair.
  • Organize the dressing room and storage areas after road trips.
  • Collaborate with athletic therapist, equipment manager, coaches, and other staff to ensure player’s needs are met.
  • Laundry (post game and after road trips).
  • Visiting team support (assist visiting teams with equipment setup and access to rink).
  • Ensure all equipment safe and in working condition.
  • Assist the head equipment manager with other duties as needed.

Skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, laundry/dryer machines, and skate sharpener.
  • Preferred: ability to operate sewing machine and rivet machine.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in skate sharpening, equipment repair, or related field - preferred.
