Description This position will operate light equipment or heavy equipment to transfer, spread and load MSW, Clean Wood, C and D waste. This position will also perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks and assist in all aspects of site grounds maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Transfer, spread, cover, load and/or compact solid waste or soil while operating excavators, loaders, landfill compactors, backhoes, tractors and skid steers as well as off-road trucks · Process materials for recycling while operating grinders and screeners · Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as pickup trucks, sweepers, etc. · Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment and vehicles · Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles · Maintain various records and/or logs · Wash, lubricate and fuel equipment and vehicles · Pick materials from incoming loads · Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control · Perform building and other stationary equipment maintenance Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Previous experience with heavy or light equipment Competencies: Good Multitasking skills Ability to interact with all people Customer service skills Decision Making Professional attitude Punctuality Dem-Con Companies, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
