Description JMC Concrete Cutting & Demo is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a strong background in demolition operations. We are looking for a professional who is extremely confident operating heavy equipment in active demolition environments and who understands that safety, precision, and teamwork drive successful projects. Equipment operators are exposed to unpleasant odors and sights and weather elements. The hours and physical demand may vary by location. RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION: Expert operators require a blend of technical and soft skills: Safely operate heavy demolition equipment (excavators, skid steers, loaders, bulldozers, and attachments such as shears, grapples, and breakers) Perform structural and selective demolition per project plans Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew using radios and hand signals Identify hazards, unstable structures, and changing site conditions Follow OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and company policies Maintain daily equipment and production logs PM20 Requirements 5–10 years of demolition experience 7–10 years of heavy equipment operating experience (required) Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing). Also, ability to withstand “bumpy” ride on equipment. Strong safety awareness and situational judgment Must be able to complete training on other landfill equipment as necessary. Must be dependable, a self-starter, and able to identify and perform daily operational requirements. Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Ability to work in conditions with exposure to weather elements. Good verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with others. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department, or line of business. MUST have Reliable Transportation (Clean driving record preferred) MUST be dependable and punctual. You will be required to lift 50lbs or more, climb on equipment for inspections. Schedules vary. We work nights, days, and weekends if necessary. Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
The Equipment Operator will safely operate heavy demolition equipment and perform structural and selective demolition according to project plans. They will also conduct daily equipment inspections and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew.
