Description

Position Overview: To safely and efficiently operate equipment used in the loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of shipping containers within the trucking yard. Must have Driver License and Pass MVR check Important Job Functions: * Load and unload containers from chassis, trucks, and stack areas. * Move containers to assigned storage or staging areas as directed by yard dispatch or supervisors * Position and align containers in stacks according to yard layout and safety protocols. * Operate yard equipment such as forklifts, yard trucks, top lift on a daily basis * Other duties as assigned Other Job Functions: * Ability to help at the gate when needed * Kneeling * Stooping * Bending * Lifting Requirements: * *Must be at least 22 years old due to safety requirements* * Ability to operate equipment on the yard * Knowledge of depot industry and interchange procedures * Ability to operate yard equipment * Heavy forklift experience * Valid Driver's License Other Skills/Abilities: * Ability to detect damages on equipment * Ability to operate equipment

Responsibilities

The equipment operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and movement of shipping containers within the trucking yard. They must also perform equipment alignment in stacks and assist at the gate as needed.
