What You'll Do Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Equipment Operator is responsible is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment on construction job sites on a variety of machinery including, but not limited to dozers, excavators, lift trucks, high-reach equipment and screeners. The Equipment Operator is also responsible for conducting pre-operational inspections, ensures equipment is maintained and operating safely, and reports any issues to management. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites Move and place materials such as fill, sand, and gravel using equipment such as backhoes or excavators when required Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance needs Follow all company and site safety policies, procedures, and regulations Work safely around underground utilities, overhead power lines, and congested work areas Operate heavy equipment with various attachments, including shears, buckets, and pulverisers, as required Follow direction from the Site Supervisor and collaborate with the site crew to complete tasks safely and efficiently Ensure required documentation and paperwork for equipment units is maintained and available Additional Information This position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks. Schedule & Compensation Schedule rotations range from 4 days on / 3 days off or 8 days on / 6 days off, or 14 days on/ 7 days off Standard workdays are 10 hours (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) Overtime paid at time and a half after 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week Out-of-town work includes either LOA and individual accommodations or all-inclusive camp accommodations (project dependent) What We're Looking For Class 5 Drivers License with a clean Driver’s Abstract High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment Mechanically inclined and basic knowledge of maintaining equipment such as greasing and fueling Ability to perform basic welding for small repairs is considered an asset Safety certifications such as CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS are considered assets What We Offer Competitive compensation with weekly pay periods Overtime opportunities (project dependent) Generous paid time off RRSP-DPSP employer matching, increasing with years of service Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and disability) Company-paid safety training Annual PPE allowance provided for field-based employees (post-probation) Out-of-town work includes either all-inclusive camp accommodations or LOA and individual accommodations (project dependent) Travel time to and from site will be paid at base rate, and travel provided by employer (project dependent) Ongoing training, development, and career advancement opportunities Employee and Family Assistance Program (confidential counselling support) Employee Referral Bonus Program Why Rising Edge Group?
