Description Position Summary Sowers Farm Holdings is a diversified dairy, beef, poultry, and crop farm seeking a dependable Equipment Operator to support planting, harvest, hay production, forage harvesting, and manure management. Our farm is fully committed to soil and water conservation and the use of best management practices. This role plays a direct part in protecting soil health, managing nutrients responsibly, and producing high-quality feed for our livestock. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up when it matters, and treats equipment and land with respect. Agriculture is weather-driven and time-sensitive — when the window is open, the job gets done. Work Schedule Primarily Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Some weekend work required Extended hours during planting, harvest, hay season, and manure application Flexibility required to complete time-sensitive fieldwork Primary Responsibilities Crop Production Operate tractors and implements for planting, tillage, cultivation, and harvest Assist with crop establishment and field preparation Follow conservation practices that protect soil structure and reduce erosion Hay & Forage Production Operate equipment for mowing, tedding, raking, baling, and forage harvesting Assist with silage harvest and packing Protect forage quality through timely execution Manure & Nutrient Management Operate manure hauling and application equipment Assist with staging, pumping, and land application Follow nutrient management plans and environmental compliance guidelines Support responsible stewardship of soil and water resources Equipment Care & Maintenance Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance Wash and clean tractors and equipment regularly Identify and report mechanical issues early Maintain organized and safe work areas What We’re Looking For (Culture & Work Ethic) Shows up on time — especially during critical seasons Works independently without constant supervision Takes ownership of equipment and job quality Understands that agriculture requires flexibility Respects the land and understands the importance of conservation Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset We value people who are steady, dependable, and committed to long-term success — not just a paycheck.
