JOB DESCRIPTION:

Stone Construction is seeking an experienced Small Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in light civil construction and residential construction, with a focus on excavation and underground utility work. This position is vital to our projects, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating small equipment in light civil and residential construction.
• Strong understanding of excavation principles, techniques, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of underground utility installation and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities - Good attiude.

• Operate small machinery, including but not limited to skid steers, mini-excavators to complete excavation tasks.
• Perform site preparation duties, including groundbreaking, grading, and backfilling.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and laborers to ensure project timelines are met.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
• Assist with the installation of underground utilities, such as water, sewer, and drainage systems.
• Participate in daily site meetings and communicate effectively with team members.
