Summary of Functions The Equipment Operator (Public Works) operates heavy machinery to maintain public infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, and public facilities. You would be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a Street Sweeper. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operate graders, dump trucks, and excavators for public works projects. • Support drainage and stormwater system maintenance. • Perform snow removal, street sweeping, and debris cleanup. • Inspect and maintain equipment daily. • Ensure compliance with municipal and safety regulations. Organizational Relationships • Reports to Public Works Supervisor. • Works with streets and public works crews. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • 2–4 years public works equipment experience. • CDL license required or ability to obtain. • Knowledge of public works safety practices. Physical Demands • Outdoor work with frequent lifting and equipment operation. • Exposure to weather, noise, and construction environments.
