JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Seeking an experienced equipment operator who will be responsible for cutting shoulder stone, pulling ditches, and performing other grade operations as necessary. May also operate a backhoe and/or bulldozer.
  • Applicant must be familiar with Grading and Storm Drain Construction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must partner with other crewmembers to help in the application of pavement to roadways utilizing the grader and other equipment and must perform additional tasks of other positions per plan specifications as instructed by crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
  • Ability to utilize a grader with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
  • May be required to use power/and or hand tools needed to complete the jobs within specifications.
  • Ability to withstand common vibratory motion associated with operation of most equipment and occasionally rough terrain.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.
  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required.
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
  • Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Experience operating a grader required.
