Job Details Job Location: Lerdo Branch - Bakersfield, CA Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Shift Job Category: General Labor Description The Equipment Shop Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This is a seasonal position. Role and Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on agricultural equipment Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential issues. Complete equipment workorder requests Calibration of liquid and dry applicators Maintain a clean work environment in dry fertilizer bays Daily assessment of all forklifts Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to use tools and equipment, including, but not limited to, power (electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic) tools, presses, lathes, various measuring tools, basic hand tools, calibrators, etc. Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Clean driving record Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and impeccable customer service This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in agriculture or heavy machinery. Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
