ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Leeds Community Equipment Technical –you’ll will play a key role in the supply of equipment to support daily living tasks and independence. This is achieved by delivering and installing complex equipment to people’s own home.
The Leeds Community Equipment Technical team are expected to deliver, dismantle and collect equipment which requires one person and to also to work in pairs for equipment which requires two person deliveries.
To liaise with customers and/or carers and to be able to demonstrate the safe operating use of the equipment.
The role is integral to our Leeds Community Equipment team to support and enable people to live safe, independent, and fulfilling lives, supporting health and social care statutory responsibilities. The service is important to the prevention agenda and provides a vital gateway to independence, dignity and wellbeing for people living in the community. The provision of these products supports avoidance of hospital admission, enables safe rapid discharge from hospital and prevents premature take up of care including residential placements.
The service operates 7 days a week and provides the delivery, ordering, maintenance, service and repair of community equipment following a professional assessment. The service also collects and refurbished equipment for it to be reissued. This role is essential for the recycling of equipment for Adults and Children.

JOB PURPOSE
Leeds City Council is the lead provider for Leeds Community Equipment Service. The staff working within the service are a mix of Leeds City Council and Leeds Community Healthcare employee.
Leeds Community Equipment Service’s role is to provide daily living and nursing equipment for people to use in their own home. Once the person has no further use for the equipment it is returned/ collected, cleaned, refurbished and then reissued. New equipment is also purchased.
The Equipment Technical Installation team are required to deliver, install and collect community equipment to people’s own home.
