Description JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Equipment Technician Date: 03/01/2026 Reports to: Director of MRF Operations Supervisory responsibilities: Yes Classification: Nonexempt Status: Full-time Essential Functions: Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, balers, conveyor systems and compactors Have a working knowledge of conveyor belts, bearings, motors and reducers Diagnose and perform light maintenance on heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers and forklifts Help keep accurate count of spare parts and tools Maintain and organize tool and spare part areas Order parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels of key parts Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA Standards Perform routine inspections of equipment and complete preventative maintenance as needed Communicate with leadership and operations to appropriately schedule any repairs and/or downtime Perform all work and maintenance in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards Requirements Qualifications: Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems Strong mechanical and technical skills with mechanic background Welding and/or fabrication skills Previous experience with heavy or light equipment Experience with power systems preferred Competencies: Problem Solving/Analysis skills Ability to Multitask Communication Proficiency May be required to obtain various certifications related to assigned area of responsibility Self-motivated, ability to work independently WORK CONDITIONS: Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.
