REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in stock borrow and lending operations, with a strong understanding of market practices and regulatory frameworks
  • Solid knowledge of settlement processes and systems, ideally within an equities or derivatives trading environment
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx or similar data automation tools
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and with clients
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure

ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Equities Derivatives Trading Operations Analyst to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Equities Derivatives Trading Operations Analyst. This role sits within the Commodities and Global Markets division and supports the front office by ensuring the smooth execution and settlement of equity derivative transactions. You will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, enhancing client relationships, and driving process improvements through automation. You should have excellent experience in operations at an investment bank not as a Trader. Also having an excellent understanding of stock borrow and lending operations and settlements process is key.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and ensuring a high standard of service
  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end settlement process for equity derivative trades, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with market and regulatory standards
  • Accurately process and record returns in internal systems, ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Leverage tools such as Alteryx to automate workflows, streamline operational processes, and improve overall efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to strategic initiatives while escalating operational risks
  • Manage stock loan and borrow transactions daily and settle mismatches with counterparties
  • Monitor corporate actions such as dividends and mergers, impacting equity derivate positions, ensuring accuracy while submitting regulatory reports
