We have new transformative owners, for all those on board, its going to be a challenging and a rewarding journey and we are just getting started. www.nacmem.org Position Purpose: The Admissions clerks greet patients, inquire about medical aliments, confirm prescheduled procedures, gathers/interviews incoming patients prior to admission, collects insurance, emergency information, and other data required to bring the patient into the hospital system. Summary of Duties (not all inclusive) Admit patients in a timely manner; five to eight minutes for inpatients and day surgery admits, five minutes for Emergency Room admits. Ensures verification and pre-certification are done within twenty-four (24) hours of admission. Obtain necessary signatures of consent for treatment and insurance forms and any other applicable forms, to include proper identification. Assign room per policy and explain hospital pre-payment policy. Assist all patients in understanding his/her insurance benefits if such information is available.
