Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Manage a varied caseload of formal ER issues, including disciplinary investigations and hearings, grievances, performance management, sickness absence, and other HR matters as relevant.
  • Lead complex internal investigations, conducting interviews and gathering evidence to produce high-quality, comprehensive reports.
  • Ensure that all casework is accurately documented and tracked within the agreed systems
  • Provide advice and representation for the company for relevant cases during conciliation and employment tribunal proceedings if required.
  • Identify and highlight trends and lessons learned in ER casework to inform policy development and proactive interventions aimed at improving organisational culture and practice.
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with internal stakeholders, HR colleagues and employee representatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (minimum) or equivalent relevant people management experience.
  • In-depth, current knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Significant previous experience of people management in a health and social care context
  • Proven track record of managing complex and high-risk ER casework from start to finish in a multi-site or large, complex organization.
  • Experience and understanding of managing serious patient safety incidents and safeguarding concerns
  • Experience of giving evidence at employment tribunal desirable but not essential
  • Experience of the management of evidence and writing investigation reports.
  • Experience and ability to convey difficult decisions with sensitivity and understanding.
