About the role Join our HR team as an Employee & Industrial Relations Business Partner, providing expert support to managers across a regulated and unionised environment. In this role, you’ll manage ER casework, support positive union engagement, and ensure strong compliance with policies, controls and audit requirements. You’ll bring sound judgement and practical HR operations insight, acting as a key escalation point for complex or sensitive matters. Working closely with colleagues across HR, you’ll contribute to cross‑functional initiatives and help strengthen our people governance framework. This is a hybrid position with three days based in office What you will do Provide specialist support to managers across a broad range of Employee Relations matters, ensuring fair, timely and consistent case management in line with Irish employment legislation. Lead and manage ER cases including grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, absence and capability issues, maintaining accurate documentation throughout. Support the Head of HR in Industrial Relations activity, including preparing for union meetings, managing day‑to‑day IR queries and helping to identify emerging risks or trends. Strengthen people governance by supporting internal and external audits, ensuring HR controls, systems and documentation are robust and audit‑ready. Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice. Act as a key escalation point for complex HR operational queries, providing sound judgement and insight while supporting colleagues across HR Operations. Partner with cross‑functional HR teams to deliver people initiatives and continuous improvements that enhance processes and the overall employee experience. What we are looking for Solid experience in an Employee Relations focused HR role, with confidence managing complex cases end‑to‑end. Practical experience working within a unionised environment, with an understanding of how to navigate day‑to‑day IR matters. Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation and its application in real‑world ER scenarios. Experience supporting audits, governance requirements and compliance activities, ideally in a regulated setting. Exposure to HR operations or a shared services environment, with the ability to apply sound judgement to nuanced queries. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and professionally at all levels. A highly organised, detail‑focused approach, with strong discretion, confidentiality and GDPR awareness. A degree in HR or a related discipline, and a CIPD qualification.
