General Summaries Department: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ADMISSIONS Shift:, Status: Full-Time / 72 hours per pay period Shift: 07:00 am - 7:30 pm Facility: Atrium Medical Center The ER Social Worker/Counselor provides direct clinical intervention, transition planning and counseling to patients and their families. The ETC /ED Social Worker/Counselor assesses the patient’s social, emotional, financial, behavioral, cultural, and family situation, and interprets this information to the physician, nursing staff, and other care team members to facilitate appropriate transition planning. The ER Social Worker/Counselor assists patients and families in making appropriate linkages with community resources and provides consultation to ER staff, and the community, who are seeking input and guidance in efforts to resolve patient issues. Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy required. Licensure: LSW, PC MFT Required. Current license with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Certification: CPI required by end of probationary period. CPR required by end of probationary period. Experience: A minimum of three years post-Masters degree of experience in a health care setting, mental health setting and/or Alcohol/Drug Treatment Program agency setting is preferred. Skills/Other: Strong Communication and Clinical Skills, including competency in diagnosing, along with knowledge of community resources.
