Position: ER Tech/ Health Unit Coordinator Department: Emergency and Trauma Center Shift: 7PM-7:30AM/ 32 hours per pay week/ 72 hours per pay period Facility: Miami Valley Hospital The ER Tech/Health Unit Coordinator (ER Tech/HUC) role combines the essential roles of the ER Tech and HUC into one role that will function based upon operational needs. The ER Tech is a multi-skilled individual able to perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Identities abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and reports those findings to the Registered Nurse. The HUC is pivotal in the overall function of the unit including coordinating communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies. Provides clerical assistance to physicians and staff. Provides direction and guidance to patients, families and visitors while promoting a positive patient experience. Tasks are performed under the oversight of the RN in coordination with other team members. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Licensure/Certification/Registration ▪ Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS CPR certification required prior to completion of orientation. Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience Preferred experience: Medical terminology Other experience requirements: Successful completion of one of the following: 1.Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training. 2.Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting 3.Currently enrolled in nursing school and completion of at least one clinical rotation. 4.EMT Basic
