ABOUT THE POSITION

Astec is seeking a strategic and results-driven ERP Program Director, Project Management to lead the successful execution of our global ERP transformation initiative. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of program and project management related to the ERP implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
As the ERP Program Director, you will define and drive program governance, lead a team of project managers, and coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver a seamless ERP deployment. You will play a critical role in establishing program management standards, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Success in this role requires a proven track record of managing complex, enterprise-wide ERP programs—preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud—in a global, fast-paced environment. You will be expected to provide clear direction, proactively manage risks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
This position is a key member of the ERP implementation leadership team and will collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to ensure the program delivers long-term value and operational excellence

Responsibilities

KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. ERP Program Governance
    a) Establish and maintain ERP program governance frameworks, including steering committees, reporting structures, and decision-making protocols.
    b) Ensure alignment with corporate strategy and business objectives.
  2. Project Portfolio Oversight
    a) Oversee the full lifecycle of ERP projects, from initiation through deployment and post-implementation support.
    b) Prioritize projects based on business impact, resource availability, and risk.
  3. Team Leadership and Development
    a) Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and cross-functional team members.
    b) Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    1. Stakeholder Engagement

      a) Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, business units, and implementation partners.

      b) Facilitate regular communication and reporting to ensure transparency and alignment.

    • Risk and Change Management

      a) Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues.

      b) Lead change management efforts to ensure user adoption and minimize disruption.

    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting

      a) Define and track KPIs to measure project and program success.

      b) Conduct regular reviews and post-implementation assessments to capture lessons learned.

    • Vendor and Partner Coordination

      a) Manage relationships with ERP vendors and consulting partners to ensure delivery quality and contractual compliance.

    • Budget and Resource Management

      a) Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES ARE:

    1. Professional Experience
      a) 10+ years of progressive experience in project/program management, with at least 5 years in ERP leadership roles.
      b) Proven track record of leading global ERP implementations, preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
      c) Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional teams (100+ resources).
      d) Demonstrated success in managing vendor relationships and third-party implementation partners.

      1. Technical and Functional Skills

        a) Deep understanding of ERP systems, business processes (finance, supply chain, manufacturing), and integration points.

        b) Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Project Insight, Microsoft Project, Jira).

        c) Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.

      • Leadership and Communication

        a) Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.

        b) Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management.

        c) Ability to drive strategic initiatives while managing tactical execution.

      • Certifications (Preferred but not required)

        a) PMP (Project Management Professional)

        b) PgMP (Program Management Professional)

        c) Prosci or other Change Management certification

        d) Oracle Cloud ERP certification.
