About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an ERP Release Manager. This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines. The ERP Release Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and managing the release lifecycle for all SAP environments within the organization, including ECC and S/4 HANA. This position ensures smooth coordination and execution of ongoing support, enhancement projects, and migration activities across multiple SAP instances and versions. The ERP Release Manager ensures that all releases—ranging from monthly change bundles and emergency patches to upgrades, enhancements, and new instance deployments—are planned, executed, and delivered efficiently, with minimal disruption to business operations. The Release Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including support, development, QA, infrastructure, and business stakeholders—to deliver high-quality releases that align with organizational goals and timelines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following Release Planning and Scheduling: define, document, and communicate release plans for all SAP instances, balancing ongoing support, enhancements, and migration projects. Coordinate release calendars and ensure alignment across various business units. Release Coordination: serve as the central point of contact for all release-related activities, facilitating communication between support teams, developers, QA, infrastructure, and business users. Change Management: oversee the change management process for SAP releases, ensuring all changes are properly documented, assessed for risk, and approved according to governance standards. Deployment Management: manage and coordinate the deployment of releases across multiple SAP environments and versions, including ECC and S/4 HANA. Ensure deployments are executed with minimal disruption to business operations. Quality Assurance: work closely with QA teams to ensure proper testing of all release components, including regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Validate that releases meet quality and compliance standards. Risk and Issue Management: identify, document, and mitigate release-related risks and issues. Escalate critical risks and coordinate resolution efforts. Documentation and Communication: maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release notes, deployment guides, rollback procedures, and post-release reports. Communicate release status, impacts, and outcomes to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: analyze release processes and outcomes to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and automation to enhance release efficiency and reliability. Compliance and Audit Support: ensure all release activities comply with internal policies and external audit requirements. Support audit requests and provide necessary documentation. Migration Support: coordinate releases related to migration activities from legacy SAP systems (e.g., ECC) to S/4 HANA, ensuring alignment with overall migration strategy and timelines. Key Activities Develop and manage release calendars for all SAP instances and versions. Organize release planning meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and priorities. Prepare and distribute detailed release plans, including scope, timelines, and resource requirements. Monitor progress of release activities and track key milestones. Coordinate deployment activities, including pre-release validations and post-deployment checks. Facilitate post-release reviews to capture lessons learned and drive process improvements. Maintain a repository of release documentation and procedures. Support communications regarding planned and unplanned outages during releases. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field. Experience managing releases in large-scale ERP environments, preferably SAP (ECC and/or S/4 HANA). Strong understanding of release management, change management, and software deployment processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities. Experience with ITIL, Agile, or other relevant methodologies is a plus. Knowledge of tools for release automation, documentation, and tracking (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Jira).
