About the Role The ERP Data Lead is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, governance, and execution of all data-related activities within the SAP S/4HANA implementation/transformation program. This role ensures data integrity, quality, and readiness throughout the project lifecycle, including data migration, data cleansing, master data governance, and data validation. The Data Lead serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams, and third-party partners on all data matters. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Data Strategy & Governance - Define and own the overarching data strategy for the SAP S/4HANA program Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures Define data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability structures across business units Develop and maintain the data governance operating model for ongoing post-go-live sustainability Data Migration - Lead the design, planning, and execution of the data migration strategy (ETL/ELT processes) Define data localization requirements to support multi-country transactions Define a right-sized data migration scope, approach, tooling Oversee the development of data mapping rules, transformation logic, and migration scripts Plan and manage mock migrations, dress rehearsals, and cutover data activities Ensure reconciliation and validation of migrated data against source systems Data Quality & Cleansing - Establish data quality rules, KPIs, and metrics to measure and monitor data health Lead data profiling and analysis of legacy/source system data to identify quality issues Coordinate business-led data cleansing activities and track progress to completion Implement automated data quality checks and exception reporting Master Data Management - Define the master data model and harmonization approach across organizational entities (e.g., Material Master, Business Partner, Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers) Drive master data standardization and harmonization across business units and geographies Support the design of master data governance processes in SAP MDG or equivalent tooling Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement - Lead and manage the data workstream team, including internal resources and external consultants Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related decisions, escalations, and risks Collaborate closely with functional leads (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, etc.) to understand data requirements Provide regular status reporting on data workstream progress to program leadership and steering committees Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer with business data owners and stewards Cutover & Hypercare - Develop and execute the data cutover plan as part of the broader program cutover strategy Support hyper-care and post-go-live data issue resolution Establish ongoing data monitoring and continuous improvement processes Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Activate methodology Experience in a global/multi-country rollout environment Industry-specific experience in Manufacturing; Medical Device manufacturing is a plus Specific experience in Manufacturing; Medical Device manufacturing is a plus Experience partnering with System Integrators Familiarity with SAP BTP, SAP Datasphere, or SAP Analytics Cloud from a data perspective Up to 50% Travel as required for project needs The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
