A LINC Part-time Caring Communities Child Care Staff will understand and model the mission, vision, and guiding principles of LINC and the Caring Communities Before and After School Program by planning and facilitating children’s activities while interacting in a warm and motivating way including recreational, youth development, and academic activities. In addition to supporting site based activities and services.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. *  Must be able to perform position expectations and essential physical functions daily in person   at assigned site. *  Follow the Basic “Big Six” Expectations for School-Age Care Programs (see below). * Prepare daily lessons, and organize the physical environment to maintain the interest of children and encourage learning.  * Supervise activities in a way that maintains ‘eyes-on’ all children, thereby keeping the children safe and accounted for at all times.  * Create an environment that is respectful of children and provides a fun, imaginative and educational experience. * Involve the children and families in planning activities. * Observe each child’s progress and communicate with families daily as directed by site coordinator. * Assist children in working together and resolving conflicts in a positive manner. * Assist with snacks, meals, and daily program setup/cleanup. * Maintain daily attendance reports and all other required documentation (i.e., incident/injury reports, sign-in/sign-out, medication logs, permission slips, attendance, enrollment and data update forms, etc.) * Be on-time and readily available for scheduled work at the site, as well as troubleshooting and quick response interventions to address emerging needs. * Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions. Team members are required to complete at least 12 hours of in-service training each year, plus have a current CPR and First Aid certification. * Assume other duties as requested by the Site Coordinator.  Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to:  Define the problem or objective. Identify relevant concerns or factors. Identify patterns, tendencies and relationships. Formulate logical and objective conclusions. Recognize alternatives and their implications.  Education and/or Experience   Minimum high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from college or technical school; or five plus years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
The staff member will plan and facilitate children's activities, including recreational, youth development, and academic activities, while modeling the mission and principles of the program. Essential duties involve maintaining constant supervision of children, creating a fun and educational environment, observing progress, communicating with families, and handling necessary documentation.
