We are seeking a skilled ESG Data Engineer (m/w/d) to lead our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data initiatives. In this role, you will leverage Microsoft’s cloud technologies to manage sustainability reporting, data integration, and analytics.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience with Microsoft Sustainability Manager and ESG data frameworks
Strong proficiency in Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, Databricks)
Hands-on experience with Power BI, Dataverse, and ESG analytics
Knowledge of carbon footprint calculations, Scope 1-3 emissions tracking, and sustainability reporting standards
Familiarity with AI-driven sustainability solutions and automation is a plus
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

Implement and manage Microsoft Sustainability Manager to track and report sustainability metrics
Develop data pipelines for ESG reporting using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics
Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and governance in alignment with global sustainability regulations (e.g., CSRD, GRI, TCFD)
Utilize Power BI to create ESG dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Integrate various ESG data sources (IoT sensors, ERP systems, carbon accounting tools) into Microsoft’s data ecosystem
Collaborate with sustainability teams, finance, and IT to drive ESG data automation and analytics
Stay updated on evolving ESG reporting standards and best practices in sustainability technology
