OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English As A Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English to non-native speakers, with a focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. This role involves working with students of various ages and backgrounds, helping them improve their English language skills for academic, professional, or personal growth.
Currently, we are looking for casual teachers to cover for holidays and illness.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in teaching or tutoring English as a second language, preferably with young adults.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
• A background in education or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with different cultural backgrounds and sensitivity to the needs of ESL learners.

• Must have a university degree
• A Canada TESOL approved certificate with a minimum of 20 hour practicum

• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students learning English as a second language.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
• Utilize various teaching methods and resources to enhance language acquisition, including interactive activities, multimedia tools, and real-life scenarios.
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their language goals.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to support the overall educational mission of the institution.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
