The Rhode Island School for Progressive Education (RISPE) seeks ESOL Clinical Coaches to join our ESOL Certification Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Observing candidates via classroom videos four times per semester, plus possible additional observations when necessary.
• Giving both written and verbal feedback to candidates in coaching sessions for each observation.
• Attending initial orientation/training and two norming with other coaches.
• Maintaining clear records of candidate progress, including observations rubrics.
• Communicating effectively with other program staff regarding candidate progress and issues/concerns.

This position is available for fall 2025, with the possibility of extension through spring 2026. Coaches can expect to devote around 11 hours per candidate, per semester. Applicants should be professionals and/or scholars in their chosen fields; active Rhode Island ESOL Certification is required.
The Rhode Island School for Progressive Education (RISPE) is one of Rhode Island’s newest educator preparation providers. RISPE was developed over four years with generous support from the Rhode Island Foundation and the United Way of Rhode Island and received unanimous approval from the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education in March 2019.
