JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ESOL Lecturer at Wirral Met College is a crucial role that requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons to students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of English proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Specialist Level 5 or above ESOL teaching qualification, e.g. CELTA or Trinity TESOL, MA TESOL, DELTA or other equivalent
• GCSE or Level 2 English and maths
• Experience teaching ESOL to adults at a range of proficiency levels
• A strong understanding of current ESOL teaching methods and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Designing and implementing lesson plans that align with the ESOL curriculum and meet the needs of individual learners
• Providing regular feedback to students on their progress and areas for improvement
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and participation
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop and improve the ESOL program and teaching materials
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement
