ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Adult ESOL teacher to join our Lifeskills faculty based at our Oxford College campus.
The Lifeskills team work to support learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs, asylum seekers and refugees. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post holder will be teaching on our Adult ESOL courses, but additional hours may be available for candidates with more experience.
This is a Fixed term contract working 23 hours per week from Monday-Thursday with some evenings, based at our Oxford College campus.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?
Successful candidates will have an ESOL teaching qualification (CertTESOL/DipTESOL/CELTA/DELTA). Whilst we would prefer applications from experienced teachers who hold a PGCE or degree, we would consider applications from applicants with limited teaching experience who have the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a PGCE or equivalent Post Compulsory Education Level 5 qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.
In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
