Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will be required to monitor work practices daily on a field project and advise superiors of observed or anticipated labor problems. You will support staffing plans, wage trend studies, and the development and presentation of craft training and orientation programs. Your work will contribute to positive workplace relationships by facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a professional degree in Law, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related careers, with complementary training in Labor Law, Human Resources, Labor Relations and a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar positions, preferably in large-scale, high-value and complex EPC/EPCM projects or related to the Construction Industry and in areas of Labor audits, attention of inspections by the Ministry of Labor or SUNAFIL.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Extensive knowledge of the current legal – labor regulations of the general labor regime and special regime of civil construction, as well as in the labor legal regulations of Safety and Health at Work and Labor Supervision.
- Knowledge of collective agreements signed by civil construction branch.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Preferably with knowledge and command of the English language (spoken and written) intermediate level.

Responsibilities:
- Performing research and develops statistical information and studies on issues such as productivity, labor union or construction industry trends and practices.
- Preparing staffing forecasts, maintains associated reference lists and files.
- Ensuring that LR/IR/WS activities conform to company and site policies/procedures follows labor contract negotiation proceedings and disseminates information on progress (LR).
- Monitoring work practices daily on a field project and advises superior of observed and/or anticipated labor problems and Supports investigations regarding employee misconduct according to the work rules.
- Recommending actions to resolve these issues to avoid work stoppages and construction schedule delays.
- Working with local & regional building trades representatives on process improvement initiatives (LR) and implements them at the jobsite level.
- Interfacing with craft workforce, construction leadership, client, and the general public.
- Producing various written project and LR/IR/WS communications.
- Verifying monthly that all contractors and subcontractors of the project comply with their obligations and working conditions, of the general regime and civil construction regime (payment of forms up to date, payment of social benefits, etc.), and assisting the contractors to comply with the survey of the observations resulting from the monthly monitoring of labor obligations.
- Carrying out inspection visits and advise workers, contractors and subcontractors on labor regulations compliance issues.
