Description

Description Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking an ESR Melter candidate for our Erie, PA re-melting plant. This is an hourly position and applicants must be willing to work all shifts and weekends, as required. Operate and maintain ESR equipment to produce high-quality steel ingots. Responsibilities include: Monitoring melting process and adjusting parameters as needed Preparing electrodes and slag for remelting Ensuring cleanliness and chemical composition of steel Troubleshooting issues with equipment or process Maintaining accurate production records Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of ESR equipment Welding and Equipment Experience: Flux core MIG welding experience ( preferred) Arc-Air experience ( preferred) Overhead crane and forklift operation experience (preferred) Key Skills: Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues Attention to detail and quality control Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment The above statemen reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
