POSITION SUMMARY: The ESS Field Support Technician will provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated power infrastructure. The role plays a critical part in ensuring reliable system operation and optimal performance across residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale energy storage assets. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Install, commission, and maintain battery energy storage systems and power conversion units. * Perform diagnostics, system testing, calibration, and firmware updates. * Troubleshoot electrical and control issues to minimize downtime. * Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks on batteries, inverters, and HVAC systems. * Complete field reports, document test results, and communicate findings to engineering teams. * Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC). * Provide on-site customer support and basic operator training. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: * Education: High school diploma required; Associate’s in electrical or mechanical technology preferred. * Experience: 2–5 years in electrical systems, renewable energy, or industrial maintenance. * Technical Skills: * Battery systems (Li-ion, LFP) and inverters * Electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC up to 1500V) * SCADA, Modbus, and PLC familiarity * Use of diagnostic tools (multimeter, IR camera, oscilloscope) * Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR WORK ENVIRONMENT * Travel up to 90% to customer sites * Physical tasks: lifting up-to 100 lbs, working outdoors, confined spaces * Flexible schedule to meet field demands ABOUT LION ENERGY: We help individuals, families, and organizations become energy independent.
