ESS Sr. Program Manager   Job Description: SKOn, a proud member of SK Group, the second largest conglomerate with a revenue size of $150 bilion, is one of the fastest growing batter manufacturers globally. With ambitious plans to reach over 180GWh manufacturing capacity in the US, SKOn is at the forefront of innovation in the energy storage sector. In response to the increasing domestic demand, SKOn is set to manufacture state-of-the-art 5.3MWh DC Blocks, fully compliant with the latest US domestic content requirements and eligible for full ITC benefits. Additionally, SKOn has contracted and awarded projects totaling 7GWh to be installed in the US starting 2026. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sr. PM to join our growing Energy Storage team in SKBA (SKOn US subsidiary). This role is pivotal in the successful development, planning, execution, and delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from inception through commercial operation. The Sr.PM will play a key leadership role, ensuring project quality, safety, adherence to budgets and schedules, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. This role will report into both the US operations and Head of Delivery in Korea.   Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Development - Coordinate with application engineering team on early-stage project efforts, including storage sizing, scope definition, and schedule creation. - Conduct financial feasibility analysis and develop models to upport project management. - Coordinate efforts and supporting technical and contractual reviews on project technical requirements, interconnection agreements, Energy storage project delivery contracts, and service  agreements as necessary.   Execution & Management: - Provide leadership and oversight for individual projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule with highest safety and quality standards. - Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary engineering and project teams to achieve project goals. - Manage procurement processes, including preparing RFPs (bidirectional inverters, EMS Controls, and SCADA, integration, etc.), evaluating bids, and driving cost-effective purchasing.   Technical & Regulatory Oversight:  - Ensure compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements (UL9540, UL9540A, NEC, NFPA, etc.), including codes and safety standards. - Provide technical input on major components and support detailed design engneering. Electrical design coordination with PCS and SCADA/Controls. - Collaborate with suppliers to integrate SKO's Battery DC Block, PCS, Controls and SCADA successfully.    Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: - Serve as the primary interface between clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders. Coordination entities will include IPP/developers, IEs, EPCs, OEMs, etc. - Oversee the preparation and distribution of project documentation and progress reports to internal and external stakeholders. - Develop dashboards and reports to improve management and communicate insights to stakeholders.   Qualifications: Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or computer science) or a related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in BESS project management, 5 years or more is a plus, especially in utility-scale electrical infrastructure projects, or specific experience in energy storage design and project management. Minimum of 7 years in the role of project delivery and project management. Technical Skills: Knowledge of BESS technology (basic cell design, BMS, module, and DC Block), system design (PCS, MV Transformer, Substation & Gen-Tie), including power electronic and potential familiarity with SCADA systems. ISO-specific experience such as ISO-NE, NYPA, ERCOT, CAISO is a plus. Codes & Standards: Familiarity with safety standards including NFPA 855, NFPA 68/69, UL 9540, UL9540A, and electrical safety standards such as NEC, IFC/IBC. Software Proficiency: Experience with project management software (e.g. Microsoft Projects, Primavera P6), Microsoft Office Suite (including PowerBi for data analysis). Soft Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skill, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Certifications (Optional): A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
