The Estate Administrator plays a key role in managing and overseeing the administration of estates, supporting probate proceedings, and assisting the Private Clients and Fiduciary Services Group with related legal matters. This role is a full-time, exempt position. Estate administration responsibilities include, but are not limited to: under attorney supervision, managing the complete administration process of estates, including preparing, reviewing, and maintaining estate documents, reviewing asset valuations, settling outstanding debts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries; preparing and filing probate documents, such as petitions, inventories, and accountings; serving as a primary point of contact for estate-related inquiries from personal representatives and beneficiaries; coordinating the resolution of outstanding debts related to the estate; assisting in the preparation of estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns; maintaining meticulous accounting records of estate income, expenses, and distributions; and collaborating closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to provide seamless support to clients and ensuring efficient estate administration processes. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in estate administration, preferably within a law firm. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of estate administration, probate laws, and fiduciary responsibilities, along with familiarity with applicable regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements. The successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and accounting systems.
