We have a role available for an Estate Appraisal & Engineering Manager to join our Defence division. This is a permanent full-time position that could be based at any of the main defence bases in South Australia. About the role You will oversee the effective management and compliance of estate appraisals, estate upkeep, and environmental management across multiple state-wide defence bases. You will ensure the integrity and safety of electrical operations, water quality systems, and wastewater systems, while managing all asbestos-related issues and concerns. Your key responsibilities will include: Coordinating with site facilities managers to ensure maintenance and improvement projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Collaborating with the PAS Regional Asset Manager to develop and implement strategic asset management plans. Identifying and mitigating risks associated with estate appraisal, upkeep, and environmental management. Ensuring compliance with Estate Upkeep standards for the Electrical Operating Authority (EOA), Water Quality Management (WQW), and Wastewater Quality Management (WWQM). Monitoring, maintaining, and evaluating records and reports to ensure appraisals, maintenance activities and performance of maintenance contractors meet the compliance requirements of the contract. Providing technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Staying updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practises related to estate management and environmental compliance. About you Our ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field. Extensive experience in estate management, facilities management, or a similar role within a defence or large-scale infrastructure environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and team members. In-depth knowledge of estate appraisals, electrical operating systems, water quality standards, and wastewater management practises, and legislation. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
