Role title: Estate Assistant
Responsible to: Senior Estate Assistant
Team: Neighbourhood Team
Contract type: 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of an extension.
Working week: 40 hours a week - Monday – Friday between the hours of 7am-5pm
Location: Head Office Canton in Cardiff, role will be primarily based at various sites in the community within Cardiff
We are looking for an Estate Assistant to join our in-house Neighbourhood Team. We are looking for someone who will work as part of a team that will provide an excellent estate management and cleaning service to the residents of our schemes, including sheltered housing.
Working within the Neighbourhood Team, you will be expected to comply with Taff’s health, safety, and fire safety responsibilities, ensuring the sites are safe, secure, and clean. You will be an integral part of the Neighbourhood Team, working closely alongside colleagues to provide excellent service to our tenants and residents.
To provide a local source of basic advice and assistance to customers on estate management matters. We offer ongoing training and support that will enhance your skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO…

Oversee designated sites, to take practical steps to make sure that they are safe, secure, and clean. To work closely with other members of the Neighbourhood Team to ensure our schemes are well maintained and a safe place to live.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Complete core EA duties, including cleaning, removal of obstructions and fire alarm and H & S checks
  • To ensure that all communal areas are kept clean, hygienic, tidy, and free from obstructions
  • To remove dumped, incorrectly stored items and appropriately dispose of or store
  • To ensure the removal of spills in communal areas
  • To complete minor repair and decorating jobs on site
  • To comply with all health & safety guidelines provided
  • To ensure that all personal protective equipment is maintained and used appropriately
  • To adhere to guidelines set out in the COSHH list and on the safety data sheets
  • To work with the wider Neighbourhood team to manage issues such as ASB/site improvements/parking issues and vandalism
  • To engage with residents in a polite and courteous manner and to respond to complaints regarding the EA service
  • To undertake training and to participate in staff meetings and conferences when required
  • To deliver newsletters and other correspondence/information produced by the association where required
