The Role
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Parking Appeals and Representation officer on a 2-year fixed-term contract to assist the Estate parking team in continuously improving our parking service. The post is based in London Bridge at our Tooley Street offices.
You will contribute to achieving quality customer care, including providing excellent customer service to our residents using your detailed knowledge of parking and traffic enforcement.
You will use your IT, people skills and knowledge to carry out a variety of activities, including dealing with representations, parking appeals and customer complaints at other stages of the statutory process and providing feedback on issues raised to management and contractors.
The aim is to ensure that service targets are met, and continuous improvement is achieved.
An essential part of the role is to keep up-to-date with knowledge of the legal framework surrounding parking and traffic enforcement, including Government guidelines and statistical returns.
This key role has one clear aim – to develop a sense of pride and passion and a ‘can do’ attitude, to reduce the number of complex investigations being completed and focussing staff on providing services ‘right first time’. In this demanding and challenging role you’ll be responsible for investigating parking representations made against parking enforcement on the Council’s housing estates and de-regulated car parks. Handling a wide range of administrative duties, you’ll undertake the role of a representations officer and make decisions on the appropriate course of action required.
To succeed, you’ll need to carry out the role in line with the Council’s overall vision, values and strategic aims, ensuring that excellent customer service is delivered. You’ll be the main point of contact and will act as lead officer to our parking contractor on the management of parking enforcement on the council’s estate land.
