In this role, you’ll work closely with a diverse and engaged client base to create personalized, tax-efficient estate plans that reflect their values and goals. From wills and trusts to incapacity planning and probate, you’ll provide comprehensive legal advice and build strong client relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Meet with clients to understand their goals for asset distribution, health care directives, and overall estate and incapacity planning.
- Provide clear, concise legal advice on available options and their implications.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to stay updated on relevant estate planning, incapacity, and estate administration laws and regulations.
- Draft and review customized estate planning documents tailored to the needs of individuals and families.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, tax professionals, and family members to create comprehensive, tax-efficient estate plans.
- Assist clients in identifying and designating appropriate beneficiaries.
- Support clients in establishing and managing trusts, including revocable living trusts and irrevocable trusts.
- Oversee estate administration processes, including preparing and submitting probate applications.
- Guide clients through the probate court process and address related legal requirements.
- Advise fiduciaries and beneficiaries on their legal rights and responsibilities.
- Ensure all deadlines, legal requirements, and record-keeping obligations are met during estate administration.
- Assist with estate management tasks such as collecting insurance proceeds, settling debts and taxes, and distributing remaining assets.
- Ensure compliance with the Law Society of Ontario’s rules and best practices for client service and file management.
- Perform additional client advisory, management, and executional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements and skills
- A licensed member in standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Strong written communications skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality client service.
- Ability to work independently and in a team with a passion to grow.
