JOB SUMMARY

The law firm of Rhodes, Butler & Dellinger, PC is seeking a full-time
estate and trust administration legal assistant with great attention to detail. This position works with the lawyers and the clients to ensure that the estate or trust is handled properly.

SKILLS

The successful candidate for this position will possess excellent written and
verbal communication skills and a knowledge of basic bookkeeping
principles.
An associate degree or equivalent work experience is required. Knowledge of
WordPerfect, Word and Excel is preferred but not required. Familiarity with
U.S. Forms 1041, 709 and 706 and Virginia Form 770 and experience with the
preparing of such forms is also preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,859.23 - $56,432.62 per year

Responsibilities
  • Meeting with clients to prepare for probate (gathering a list of

assets and preparation of probate forms)

  • Preparing Inventories and Accountings (valuing assets,

contacting businesses and financial institutions, organizing assets and

balancing numerous bank accounts)

  • Preparing various legal pleadings and notices regarding

estates and trusts with the supervision of the responsible lawyer

  • Gathering and reviewing financial information and tax data

for estate and trust income tax returns

  • Fielding questions/concerns of clients with a professional

demeanor

  • Preparing correspondence in estate and trust matters
  • Performing some secretarial duties (correspondence, filing,

copying, setting appointments, etc.)
