Altro LLP is a boutique law firm with offices in Toronto and Montreal. We are experts in domestic and cross-border tax and estate planning with over 35 years of experience. Our Estates Team in Toronto is currently looking for a Law Clerk. This is a 10-month contract position.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to progress in Estates Law and learn from experienced cross border lawyers.

This position will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Communicate with clients (for scheduling, introductions, sending correspondence, gathering information, etc.)
  • Prepare reporting and transmittal letters
  • Assist with preparing warranty deeds for U.S. real estate transfers and communicate with/send instruments to recording offices in the U.S. for registration
  • Prepare documents related to settlement of estate and probate applications in Ontario and Florida, and communicate with respective government offices
  • Process disbursements/expenses working with the firm’s bookkeeper
  • Record one’s own billable hours on a daily basis
  • General office administrative duties, such as mail, couriers, copying/scanning, etc.
  • Other tasks and projects may be assigned
