WHAT YOU WILL NEED

We are seeking a qualified and experienced RICS qualified Estates Manager to oversee and manage the Estates team. You will have a track record of delivering best value from actively managing a property portfolio and property asset-based projects along with a good property mind and the ability to think creatively and focus on solutions. Some previous public sector experience would be advantageous, however is not essential.

Responsibilities

West Suffolk Council has a strong reputation for forward-thinking and innovation around property, which forms a major element of many of the council’s exciting initiatives to deliver services to local residents, business and visitors.
We are offering the opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Chartered Surveyor to join the council’s Property team in a high-profile leadership role, heading the asset and estate management of the council’s diverse portfolio of over 400 operational and non-operational land and property assets. These assets include industrial premises, local shopping centres, multi-let office blocks, strategic land, scheduled ancient monuments and even a world class entertainment venue.
As the Estates Manager your will work as part of the supportive and collegiate Property leadership team, including Strategic Property, Building Services, Facilities Management, Energy and Sustainability and technical support services. You will also be responsible for managing a team of estate surveyors, working closely with our existing tenants, maximising the value of our various land holdings and working on exciting corporate projects objectives of the council. You will be responsible for the owning and delivering the council’s Asset Management strategy and plan and provide high quality professional property advice and guidance to the authority.
