The team deliver estate management and stewardship services (including our new Estate Caretaker Service), property alterations in line with the Birmingham Estate Design Guide, and guidance to a wide range of customers living, working and visiting our estate in line with the Birmingham Scheme of Management.

Responsibilities

You will lead a team responsible for the management of our Birmingham estate, including ensuring that property alterations are managed effectively and efficiently and in line with the homeowners transfer documents and Design Guide that are in place. This role will see you manage property records, management of property alterations and estate management and working with customers to ensure we are delivering excellent services. As a key member of the Estates and Stewardship Leadership Team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a highly regarded service with the opportunity to shape these services and continue the legacy of one of the country’s longest established stewardship models. You will work in partnership with colleagues to deliver great services to your internal and external customers. The role will involve:

  • Lead the Estates and Stewardship Team to deliver a consistently high quality, Estates and Stewardship service (tenure neutral) to our residents and communities.
  • Be a key member of the Estates and Stewardship Services Leadership Team, supporting the Head of Service with the development and implementation of organisational and team
  • Lead on the development and review of policy, processes and system improvements and the creation and delivery of your Team Plans.
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the Estates and Stewardship Team to ensure continual improvement in business performance, value for money and customer satisfaction.
  • Work in partnership across BVT and external partners to ensure delivery of BVT’s Corporate Plan, legislative and regulatory compliance

You will bring drive, tenacity, a credible track record of leadership and of building strong, supportive and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including your own team and colleagues across BVT that deliver real and valuable outcomes for the business and our customers. You will bring the following key experience and skills for the role:

  • Good Standard of education or relevant professional qualification or significant experience in the sector
  • Strong leadership skills in teams achieving business goals, KPIs and team and individual targets.
  • Customer focused and a commitment to quality and a positive customer experience.
  • Excellent people skills in staff management and customer service.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, problem solving and ICT skills.
  • Flexibility of working to meet service expectations which will include evenings and weekends.
  • Financial and performance management, including management of budgets and delivering value for money.
  • Excellent track record of identifying and implementing improvements to services and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience of strong partnership working and contract management
