JOB OVERVIEW

Loughton Contracts is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Apprentice to support our Fit Out Estimating & Sales team in preparing accurate, cost-effective bids for commercial flooring projects. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-performing environment, working alongside experienced professionals in the construction industry.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• This role offers the opportunity to undertake a Level 4 HNC in Construction and the Built Environment, supporting your continued professional development within the industry
• Full training and support provided, including mentoring and software training.
• Opportunities for progression into full Estimator roles upon successful completion of apprenticeship.

Work Location: In perso

• Download and organise relevant tender documents from client portals.
• Prioritise tasks based on direction from the Sales and Estimating Team.
• Read and interpret tender packages, specifications, and scope documents.
• Assist Estimators and Sales Managers in measuring quantities from drawings using Callidus software and other tools.
• Identify and flag any discrepancies or missing information to the team.
• Request pricing, product data sheets and samples from manufacturers and suppliers for flooring products.
• Support the preparation of estimates, ensuring accuracy and inclusion of all necessary details.
