ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

White Rock Iron is looking for a full-time Estimating Manager based in Delta, BC.
Reporting to the Owner, you will play a pivotal role in leading the company’s estimating function, supervising a junior estimator, and ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable bids for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the end-to-end estimating process, maintaining strong client and supplier relationships, and contributing to the company’s growth strategy through quality-focused and efficient bidding practices.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to determine project scope and requirements
  • Preparing accurate cost, time, and labour estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects
  • Reviewing and validating estimates prepared by the junior estimator and providing mentorship
  • Maintaining up-to-date supplier pricing and material cost data
  • Preparing change orders for scope changes or site instructions
  • Managing tender schedules to ensure timely and competitive submissions
  • Following up on submitted quotes and tracking bid outcomes
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, and sub-trades
