What we’re looking for: A highly capable Estimating Manager with strong commercial judgement, ready to lead the function with clear structure, discipline and direction. You’ve operated in complex, high-value project environments and consistently deliver estimates that are competitive, accurate and commercially sound. You work effectively across operations, commercial and business development, building credibility with senior stakeholders and influencing key decisions. You bring a disciplined, consistent approach to estimating; ensuring outputs are robust, well-tested and aligned to operational capability and business objectives. What you’ll bring to the team: Proven experience leading estimating in heavy lift, construction or similar industries Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk, competitiveness and margin Demonstrated capability in developing detailed cost estimates, pricing models and bid strategies Ability to interpret complex RFPs and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions Advanced analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making Experience improving estimating processes, systems and governance frameworks Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level Leadership capability to build, mentor and drive a high-performing estimating team What you’ll be doing: Leading and continuously improving the estimating function, ensuring consistency, accuracy and governance Overseeing the development of detailed cost estimates, pricing models and project schedules Driving pricing strategies that align with market conditions, risk profile and business objectives Analysing tenders and client requirements to deliver compliant, competitive submissions Leading risk and opportunity assessments across all bids Collaborating with operations, commercial and BD teams to validate assumptions and methodologies Using historical data and performance trends to improve estimating accuracy and forecasting Managing subcontractor and supplier pricing inputs to strengthen bid competitiveness Leading post-tender reviews and embedding lessons learned into future submissions Supporting bid/no-bid decisions and pipeline prioritisation Ensuring all estimates are documented, auditable and maintained within systems Why You’ll Love Working with Us: At Freo, we believe in Doing Things That Matter, Leading at Every Level and Winning a Better Way.
