CAPITAL ESTIMATING MANAGER – LEAD, MENTOR, DELIVER

KBR is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to take ownership of our Capital Estimating and Cost Assurance function across Australia. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll set the standard for excellence in estimating and cost planning, while shaping and developing a high-performing national team.
You’ll work closely with PMO functions, in particular our Data Analytics team, project teams, clients, and KBR’s global network, ensuring robust and reliable capital estimating practices that directly influence project outcomes. With a strong focus on mentoring and capability development, you’ll leave a lasting legacy by building the next generation of estimating professionals within KBR.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years’ experience in capital estimating, cost planning, or project controls.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow multi-disciplinary teams, with a focus on mentoring emerging talent.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating principles, commercial and delivery models (RAMP, TOC, LS, SoR).
  • Ability to interpret schedules, drawings, and cost plans, and confidently prepare conceptual estimates with limited data.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency across a range of estimating tools and systems.

  • Contribute at every level – from leading major project estimates and reviewing JV tenders, to influencing global processes and supporting client roadmaps.
