Estimator / 2D CAD Engineer – Permanent – Dudley
We are seeking an Estimator / 2D CAD Engineer to join a leading engineering business in the Dudley area. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering excellent long-term prospects and training for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate quotations for customers using Lantek and similar software (training provided if required)
• Read, interpret, and import engineering drawings, producing 2D profiles using AutoCAD or similar packages
• Occasionally create drawings from samples or sketches provided
• Liaise with customers via email and phone to clarify requirements and resolve queries
• Work closely with production and other internal departments to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy throughout all tasks

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a CAD, estimating, or engineering environment
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Lantek, or similar 2D CAD software (training available)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
• Basic understanding of different material types, such as mild steel and stainless steel, is an advantage
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment

Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8am – 5pm
Friday: 8am – 4:30pm
(39.5 hours per week, with 1 hour lunch break each day)
