Estimator is responsible for several duties at Butler Merchandising Solutions, LLC, including preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. Estimator will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. Ideal candidate will have excellent numerical and analytical skills along with an adeptness to manage relationships with key stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates required; Bachelor’s preferred
  • 5 years estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Corrugated and/or commercial print experience preferred.
  • Bindery and fulfillment experience a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset with emphasis on mathematical calculations.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Exceptional written and oral communication in a professional business environment.
  • Aptitude to learn, and put into effective use, multiple software platforms.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Thoroughness and reliability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed
  • Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering project specifications, requesting and analyzing vendor quotations, examining production methods, and ascertaining best manufacturing practices.
  • Prepares cost estimates and pricing presentations by analyzing vendor proposals along with manufacturing requirements.
  • Identifies labor, material, and scheduling requirements by studying proposals, drawings, and other related documents.
  • Refers incomplete specifications requirements to account managers, sales service, or client for clarification.
  • Computes costs by identifying labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Refines specification based on knowledge/experience to achieve efficient production methods, lower costs, increased suitability for end use, and adds additional manufacturing steps to ensure quality standards.
  • Presents prepared estimates to client/account manager by assembling and displaying both numerical and descriptive details.
  • Creates organized and detailed production planning that can be communicated throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks/goals in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships with established, new, and key vendors.
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.).
  • Other projects as assigned or needed.
