SUMMARY

We are seeking an Estimator to join our team in Western Canada. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mission by providing accurate estimates that support our commitment to quality and safety. Your expertise will directly contribute to our innovative strategies and exceptional service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years experience in industrial welding, fabrication, or construction estimating, an asset.
  • Understanding of API 650, ASME Sec IX and related industry codes, an asset.
  • Strong technical knowledge of welding processes, materials, equipment, and storage tanks.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to understand scope and requirements.
  • Conduct material take-offs and quantity surveys to determine materials and resources needed for each project.
  • Estimate labour and equipment costs based on project scope, complexity, and timeline.
  • Analyze project risks and factors that may impact cost estimates, such as material availability, labour rates, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and the Construction Manager to gather input and insights for cost estimation.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals for submission to clients.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals to clients and participate in negotiation meetings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, project bids, and client communications.
  • Ensuring all required documents are included in the bid package before submission.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements in welding processes and materials.
