Description Summary: As an Estimator, you will be responsible for identifying budget costs for client projects while working in collaboration with Project Coordinators and Project Managers. Some of the main responsibilities include creating proposals, tracking costs, and understanding subcontractor and client specifications in order to deliver an accurate bid. Your ability to be self-motivated, detailed, and precise will lend you to be successful within this role. If your expereince is above this position level, please apply. This position reports to Eric Williams, Director of Preconstruction https://www.linkedin.com/in/eric-williams-aa026946/ and Jeff Mishler, Project Executive https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeff-mishler-038784176/ Responsibilities/Duties: Participate in-plan and estimate reviews for respective projects, including accurate quantity surveys and estimates for those divisions of the bid Compile historical cost data for project estimates and bids Build relationships with subcontractors in order to prepare lists of subcontractors/suppliers confirmed to be bidding on project Engage subcontractor and/or supplier quotations or scheduling input as needed Communicate directly with subcontractors prior to bid date to verify participation and clarify scope Create scope documents that communicate inclusions, exclusions and clarifications of the estimate to Owners, Architects and other stake holders Propose creative solutions through value engineering for issues within construction budgets Request clarifications or additional information regarding projects currently being worked on from project Architects & Engineers Proactively schedule internal reviews with Project Management Team and DOPS Participate in project kick-off and close out meetings Scope and review subcontracts and provide award recommendations to DOPS and Project Managers Attend project walk-through’s and communicate with Owners, designers and subcontractors on location Complete assignments by due dates as indicated on the estimate responsibility sheet Attend meetings and trainings as assigned Complete projects as assigned Requirements 3-5 years of Estimating, Preconstruction, or Civil Engineering experience Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Structural, Civil or Architectural Engineering is preferred, but not required Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Working knowledge of estimating programs such as On-Center, I^2ft, Adobe, Bluebeam, etc. Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day Reliable transportation
